I can appreciate what Ferona Vei is trying to accomplish, standout from the pack. It’s hard, punk pop bands are a dime a dozen at the moment. On their E.P. “Diary of a Stone Romantic” they deliver driving high energy guitars and outstanding melodic vocals and songs that I can hear as staples in contemporary rock radio. It’s refreshing to hear a band come out without more originality than their power punk pop cronies. That thing has been done to death. It’s time someone does something new!

A band that Ferona Vei reminds me of is Flickerstick, great songs writing with memorable choruses. Edgy, poppy, trendy, yet still has that element of danger than rock music is all about. The standout tracks on this 6 track E.P. are; “Take Me Away,” “Long and Hard” and “Come What May.” I would like to hear what they come up with when they record a full-length record.
